Meet the staff and ministry leaders

Rev. Richard & Joyce Lauby

Senior Pastor

Rev. Richard Lauby attended Wesleyan & Nazarene Universities, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and Azusa Pacific University. He has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in philosophy, theology, and Pastoral Ministry. He & Joyce began their ministry on the staff of Kansas City Youth For Christ. 0Pastoral ministry includes Bethany Nazarene (OK) , Skyline Wesleyan (San Diego) Lakeside Wesleyan (San Diego) and West Park Wesleyan (Overland Park, KS). They pastored in California for sixteen years, and in Kansas City for eight years before coming to Port Charlotte in 1999. Richard & Joyce now continue to serve at the Peace River Wesleyan Church. Along with pastoring the church, Richard has served for the last six years as secretary of the Board of Administration for the Wesleyan Churches in the state of Florida. Joyce is currently ministering as Drama Director, Service & Music Planning and enjoys participating in Choir and the Praise & Worship Team.

Rev. Jim & Wanda Cochran

Assistant Pastor / Student & Mens Ministry

Pastor Jim graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky with a Masters in Divinity. Jim & his wife Wanda pastored Radford Wesleyan Church in Virginia for 17 years. They also served on the committee and were host parents for Young Life in their area. In 2003 the Lord called Jim to leave Virginia to move down to Port Charlotte to help with the building of Peace River Wesleyan Church. Pastor Jim now serves as our Associate Pastor, Children's Pastor and Men's Ministry Leader. Wanda ministers in Choir and in the Praise & Worship Team.
